Our Mission

At our core, Viridium's mission is to prioritise life: human, plant, and animal alike. We are unwavering in our dedication to tackle the pressing climate crisis through a realistic and pragmatic lens, focusing on the improvement of assets within the built environment.

We firmly believe that real change begins with deeds not words, which is why we advocate a 'retrofit first' approach. This means getting to the cause of a problem, providing no-nonsense, actionable advice to reach solutions and actively working to enhance the sustainability of existing structures, making them more energy-efficient, environmentally friendly, and healthier for all living beings.

Our mission is clear: to harness the power of our built environment to create lasting positive impacts on our world, one sustainable building at a time.

Founder & Director

Gemma is a Chartered Building Surveyor with a passion for sustainability and turning tired structures into eco-friendly wonders fit for the future.

With a background as diverse as her interests, Gemma brings a wealth of experience to the table. From advising on energy efficiency upgrades to individual building owners to tackling mammoth regional portfolios, she has built strong client relationships as the go-to for all things sustainable. Gemma also has extensive experience in Project Management and Contact Administration/Employer's Agent roles in both the commercial and residential sectors, particularly industrial sheds and supported living accommodation respectively.

Gemma is also a well-known voice on the built environment circuit, sharing her knowledge at events and mentoring the next generation as part of the RICS Inspire Ambassadors program. She's also a proud member of Women in Property and is on the committee of the Lancashire & Cumbria branch.
